Case Interview Math Study Plans
Turn practice into a plan. Three structured programs — 14, 21 or 30 days — that tell you exactly what to drill each day, using the free trainers on this site.
14-Day Foundation
Perfect for beginners. Build a solid foundation in case math basics.
Best for: An interview two weeks out, or a starting point if arithmetic under pressure is currently the thing you dread.

21-Day Standard
Our most popular program. Covers all key topics with progressive difficulty.
Best for: The default choice. Three weeks is long enough to move difficulty bands twice without rushing.

How to use these plans
Choose your plan
Select based on your timeline, not your ambition. Finishing a shorter plan beats abandoning a longer one.
Follow the daily activities
Complete the suggested trainers each day in order, and read every explanation, including for answers you got right.
Track progress
Create a free account to save your history and see whether accuracy is genuinely improving or just feeling easier.
How the plans are built
All three plans move through the same three phases, just at different speeds. The first phase builds arithmetic speed with easy mental math sprints while introducing case math at Foundation. The second moves case math to Standard, which is the level a typical first-round interview asks. The third pushes into Advanced, where several steps are chained together and the numbers stop being convenient.
Mental math difficulty deliberately lags case math difficulty by one band for most of each plan. Doing hard arithmetic inside a hard business scenario at the same time teaches you very little, because you cannot tell which of the two caused the mistake.
Rest days sit after the heaviest blocks. They are part of the plan, not a gap in it.
What each daily activity involves
Mental Math sprint — a 60-second timed run of pure arithmetic, where correct answers add 2 seconds and wrong ones subtract 2. Roughly a minute each. Difficulty bands are Easy, Medium and Hard. Start a sprint.
Case Math drill — a 3-minute session of generated business scenarios across 11 topics, with a worked explanation after every answer. Difficulty bands are Foundation, Standard and Advanced. Start a drill.
Brain Teaser session — 2 or 4 puzzles drawn from a set of 150, with hints and full explanations. No clock, because these test reasoning rather than speed. Start a session.
If you have less than a week
None of these plans fits, and compressing one does not work. Do this instead: two Medium mental math sprints and one Standard case math drill every day, weighted towards profitability and breakeven, which open most cases. Add one brain teaser session the day before the interview and stop practising by early evening. Cramming arithmetic the morning of an interview reliably makes performance worse.
Frequently asked questions
Which study plan should I choose?
Pick by the time you have, not by ambition. If your interview is inside two weeks, take the 14-Day Foundation and actually finish it. Three weeks or more and the 21-Day Standard is the better default. Choose the 30-Day Mastery only if you have a month and are targeting McKinsey, BCG or Bain, where the less common topics such as working capital and customer economics are more likely to appear.
What happens if I miss a day?
Continue from where you stopped rather than trying to catch up by doubling a day. These plans compound through frequency, and a double session mostly produces fatigue. Missing two or three days across a plan changes very little; abandoning it because you fell behind changes a lot.
How much time does each day actually take?
15 to 20 minutes on the 14-day plan, 20 to 30 on the 21-day, and 30 to 45 on the 30-day. A mental math sprint is about a minute, a case math drill is three, and a brain teaser session is three to twelve depending on length. The rest is reading the explanations, which is where most of the learning happens.
Do I need an account to follow a plan?
No. Every trainer is free and open without signup, and the schedules on this page are all you need. A free account only adds saved history across devices, which makes it easier to see whether your accuracy is actually improving.
Are the rest days important?
Yes, and skipping them is the most common way people burn out of these plans in week two. The rest days are placed after the heaviest blocks deliberately. If you want to do something on a rest day, do one easy sprint rather than a full session.
Is this enough to prepare for a case interview?
For the quantitative half, yes. These plans do not cover structuring, hypothesis-driven problem solving, or the communication side of a case, all of which need live practice with a partner. Treat the plan as the part that makes sure maths is never the reason you get rejected.
